What is a Seakeeper?
Seakeepers apply the physics of gyroscopes to the age-old problem of boat roll. Essentially, Seakeeper is a computerized stabilizer. Inside a vacuum-enclosed sphere, a steel flywheel spins at speeds of up to 9,750 rpm. When the boat rolls, the Seakeeper tilts fore and aft, producing a gyroscopic power known as angular momentum to port and starboard that counteracts the boat roll. If you are prone to getting sea sick on the water, while not guaranteed, the Seakeeper helps to significantly reduce your chances of illness!
